CUSTAPP · HOMEBREW PREVIEW
A small screen.
A new companion.
Keep your chats and projects close. Your PSP connects to Custapp on your Mac, where AI and builds run.
0.1.0-preview.1 · EBOOT.PBP in ZIP · Custom firmware required
Homebrew preview: physical hardware validation is ongoing. Requires Custapp for Mac 0.1.2 on Apple Silicon. AI prompts require approval on your Mac.
ONE DOWNLOAD. YOUR SETUP.
Start with your PSP.
Pick a model to see its storage location and connection steps.
ms0:/PSP/GAME/CUSTAPP/EBOOT.PBPConnect your PSP by USB. Merge the PSP folder with the one on your Memory Stick; do not create a second PSP folder inside it.
Pair over Wi-Fi
Prepare your Mac
Install Custapp for Mac 0.1.2 and configure an AI route. Connect your PSP to the Mac using XMB → USB Connection.
Let your Mac install Custapp
In Mac Settings → PSP Companion, click Install on PSP… and choose the mounted Memory Stick or PSP Go internal storage. The installer copies Custapp and prepares the trust certificate, private seed and connection files together.
Launch and approve the matching code
Safely eject. Launch Custapp from Game → Memory Stick (or PSP Go System Storage), using a compatible network profile. Pairing starts automatically. Compare the six-digit code on both screens and click Approve on your Mac within two minutes. Use Connect to Mac on PSP to request a fresh code.
Select a route and send a prompt
Choose your Mac AI model/route, create a chat and send a prompt. Approve the prompt on your Mac. Keep the Mac running on the same network. Pairing is saved for the next launch.
KNOW YOUR CONNECTION
Choose the right path.
| Model | Connection | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| PSP 1000 / 2000 / 3000 | Wi-Fi or USB exchange | ms0:/ |
| PSP Go | Wi-Fi or USB exchange | ef0:/ internal · ms0:/ M2 |
| PSP Street (E1000) | USB exchange only | ms0:/ |
| PPSSPP | Wi-Fi through emulator networking | Actual Memory Stick folder |
How does USB exchange work?
USB exchange is manual, not live USB chat. First choose the mounted CUSTAPP folder in Mac Settings → PSP USB AI and prepare its entropy seed. Eject, launch Custapp on PSP, choose USB in Setup and write a prompt. Exit Custapp, enter XMB → USB Connection and reconnect to the Mac. Read the USB request, choose the exact AI route and send for approval. Approve on the Mac, then sync the latest response. Eject and relaunch Custapp to view it. Archive finished exchanges on PSP.
PPSSPP: blank screen or “Could not find executable”
Use the latest Custapp preview. In Mac Settings → PSP Companion, click Set up PPSSPP with PPSSPP closed. This installs the bundled client and opens it with networking enabled. Approve the matching code in Mac Settings.
For manual or custom storage setup, use File → Open Memory Stick or Settings → System → Show Memory Stick Folder. Unzip the download, then merge its PSP folder into that actual Memory Stick root. Confirm that PSP/GAME/CUSTAPP/EBOOT.PBP exists there. Opening only the downloaded CUSTAPP folder does not install it.
Launch the installed EBOOT from PPSSPP. For pairing, enable Networking/WLAN and export the Mac trust certificate, config and fresh seed into the installed CUSTAPP folder using Advanced connection settings. Keep a valid system clock. UI launch does not require completed pairing. Official PPSSPP Mac guide.
Wi-Fi or pairing does not connect
Use a network profile your PSP can already join, with the PSP and Mac on the same LAN. Keep the Mac awake. Check the exported host address, a valid PSP clock and the fresh entropy seed. Pairing starts automatically after setup. Use Connect to Mac for a fresh code; invitations expire after two minutes. If your network is incompatible, select USB exchange instead.
What runs on PSP?
This download is the Custapp companion, not a browser or a game installer. HTML and Three.js projects run on the Mac or a companion browser. Native PSP games need their own EBOOT. Android hosting and automatic game installation are not included in this preview.
Release details & checksums
The preview archive contains the EBOOT, public configuration, README, validation notes and checksums. Pairing credentials and seeds are created during setup. See the SHA-256 checksum and release details. Emulator transport and host tests do not establish real hardware reliability.
